Often times after a major update/upgrade on our computer, will discover that the window Recycling Bin is no where to be found or has disappeared from our personal computer (PC). Most times this happens to updates to Windows 10 as well as updates to windows 7 and 8.1.
How To Bring Back A Lost Recycle Bin
The steps below will guide you through the process of finding and restoring lost Window Recycle Bin on your computer.
- Open the Windows File Explorer (open up a folder or This PC from the start menu)
- Click on the View tab
- Select Options
- In the Folder Options window, click the tab once again
- Make sure to select the Show hidden files, folders, and drives box
- Turn off the option to Hide protected operating system files
- Go back to the File Explorer and select PC from the right-hand column
- Select your operating system (OS) (C:) or C: Drive
- Right-click on the Recycle Bin and click Send To
- Click on Desktop to create your shortcut.
If you carefully followed the steps outlined above, the Recycle Bin should be waiting on your computer desktop background.
